ho ho ho!

Tell you wot... that Santa-bloke is a reet messy chappie!

AND he came in through front door and left via chimney!  So 'floury' snow EVERYWHERE!

Cheeky monkey!... although somehow I think he'll be allowed back next year xxxx

Merry Merry Christmas to one & all!

Wahooo!  Only one more sleep and the festivities begin!

The presents are wrapped, the stockings are hung and the mince pies & carrots are awaiting the big fella and his reindeers!  YIPPEE!

... Mama A is much more ready for Christmas now the presents have been wrapped!

... Mr A is ready now he is on holidays and the lawns have been mowed!

... the little Miss As have been ready since October and the excitement has not abated!

It's been a funny and fast year and we are all truly ready for a little break from the routine and the enjoyment of school holidays.  Miss P has wrapped up her pre-school activities and is incredibly excited about starting big school on January 31st!  Miss M is looking forward to having her little sister at school and has big plans for recess periods!?!  That probably mainly involves Miss P and her friends acting out whatever Miss M and HER friends decide on any given day and indeed, Miss P will soon grow weary of that and the playground independence will begin!... let's hope it doesn't require a mini-revolution to gain such independence!

Back to Christmas, and what does a country without snow do to bring the Christmas vibe into town?? ... CAMELS of course!  The local church held a Carols By Candlelight service at Miss M's school and the kings arrived on REAL camels!  They are BIG... really big ... and very smelly!  (Hence the slightly strained faces on both girls and bloated bellies as they hold their breathes for the duration of the photoshot!  ha ha ha!)

Wherever you are, whatever you do and whoever you are with, we Anscombes wish you a safe, happy & peaceful Christmas.

Our love

Miss P's Haircut...

Our little Miss P has been asking and asking and asking for a haircut over the last few weeks.

After a particularly sticky week weather-wise, she asked again... when Mama A asked "Are you sure poppet?", her reply was "I just need some air round my neck"!!  Can't argue with that!

So, in we went and about 5 inches later, we have a smiling Miss P!

Best thing.... that curls are back!! xxxx

Aussie snow? ...

Our equivalent snow flurry!?!  OK - so the washing hanging OUTSIDE gives the season away (although it is undercover due to rain!) but if we squint hard and long enough, it could be the real thing?

Snowy Blighty...

Naw - our little slice of English snow care of Lala!  We know it's a nuisance and brings everything to a stand still... but ain't it pretty!!

new specs...

Look at the swanky girl in the specs!

After telling us she was seeing double when reading, we figured it was time to take Miss Megan for an eye check!

Looking through the vast range of glasses BEFORE the eye test, it became apparent that Miss M was getting quite excited at the prospect and Mama A found herself having to tell Miss M not to be too disappointed if her eyes were good!!

Suffice to say, the results came in and the little lady is short sighted in one eye and has an astigmatism in other - rendering the glasses a fairly permanent fixture.

Having chosen them entirely of her own volition, Miss M is thrilled with her new 'accessories'!

Purple carpet ...

:oD  The beautiful wisteria is drop drop dropping and we're holding Mr A back from chopping all the flowers down!

Let's enjoy it while it lasts!

Lake fun...

oooh! what a beautiful wee break the Family A have enjoyed!

Driving just 1.5 hr north, Lake MacQuarie comes into view and
Summerland Point was the final destination.

Here are some pics of the Miss A's in the donut (ok so mainly Miss M,
but the fact that Miss P got in there at all is a marvellous thing!)
and we all thoroughly loved our first 'proper' fishing trip... ie, we
actually caught some fish as opposed to last trip when nought was
caught!

Tampa's Wysteria....

A few shots of the exploding wysteria, avenging the Easter cull!

It seems to grow by the hour, which may mean the Family A come back from hols to a purple patio!
