Happy Ever After!

As the excitement mounted for Mama A to meet her schoolgirls off the bus, the temperature soared and hit a 'balmy' **cough wheeze** 42 degrees!  ... that's 107 degrees F!

Very VERY hot for two girls who have lived in togs and jandals for the last 2 months - shoes and socks will continue to be a challenge over the next couple of weeks!

Suffice to say, school dresses thrown over chairs, the school chicks hit the pool within 3 minutes of being home!

Happy Summer Days...

Summer Days...

* sigh *

Enjoying the penultimate day of the summer holidays at Cronulla,
Captain made a castle for all his princesses {actually turned out he was trying to build a scale model of a new branch in his region, but hey!?!}
Miss P was buried to her knees
Miss A sifted sand like she was gold-panning
and we all oo'd and arrrr'd at a shoal (?) of stingers aka Portuguese Man-O-War
... gorgeous little blue jellyfish with a nasty stinger that can float on a nylon-esque string tail up to 10m long!
Not fatal, just painful... and jolly good sport watching OTHERS come out of the water with mysterious burning sensations!  :oD

Happy Australia Day!

26 January is Australia Day - an opportunity for a lot of foreigners to buy/wear tacky Aussie stuff and for locals to do what they do best - beaches and bbqs!

Not quite sure of our place in above statement, we took to the city on what turned out to be the hottest Australia Day in 20 years!  38 degrees... phufff!  Suffice to say, we came home, bbq'd dinner and swam!  Definitely think we transitioning from tourists to locals?

(nb our tacky Aussie stuff was all free! - the perks of having handsome girls!!)

Miss M's birthday in the City...

We are not sure who enjoyed it more, but us Anscombe gals took to the city for Miss M's birthday to see Charlie & Lola at Sydney Opera House.

It was the most beautiful (indeed stiffling!) day and great to be in such an iconic place for a special family day - the only thing missing... our Captain xxxx

School Buddies...

We collected Miss P's school shoes today - so the girls promptly came home to play 'Schools' together, dressed in full regalia!

Miss M has pledged to stay with Miss P at school for 'the first two whole days, Mum'.  Mama A wonders if it'll last that long!?!

oooooh, the view...

*** swoon ***

There is singularly no better New Years Eve view in the universe.
Thanks Archie, Gillian and Simon.

New Years Eve Baking care of Nanny!...

Wondeful Nanny gave the girls some great cooking sets for Christmas c/o the Junior Masterchef range!

Here are the little angels baking some delumptious treats on News Years Eve morning - Banana cake with fresh lemon icing and Vanilla cupcakes with icing designs by Miss P!

Unbelievably, Mr A reckons this is the first time he has ever made a cake!
